Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have established close relationships of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Currently, there are 5 centers for the study of the history and culture of Azerbaijan in Kazakhstan. These are «Center for the Study of the History and Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan», operating under the Caspian State Engineering and Technology University named after S.Yu. Yessenov, is located in the city of Aktau, «Azerbaijan Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage» at Atyrau State University, a corner of Azerbaijan at the Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Center for the History and Culture of Azerbaijan at the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, located in Almaty and the office of national leader Heydar Aliyev, established at the Lev Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Nur-Sultan.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Foundation and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
On May 16, 2018, Astana hosted a presentation of the Kazakh-language edition of the book «Foregoer». This work tells about the life and work of Heydar Aliyev, with a preface written by the First President of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev. On June 13, 2018, the presentation of this book took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center within the framework of a visit to Baku by a delegation led by the head of the Library of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Makhmud Kassymbekov.
In 2023, a documentary film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev was made by Kazakhstan's state television channel "Kazakhstan". The film "Ғазиз ғұмыр Life" tells about the achievements of Heydar Aliyev in the development of friendly relations the two countries.
In 2023, one of the central streets of the capital Astana was named after National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the heads of state also participated in the opening ceremony of the street.
The auditorium named after Heydar Aliyev at the Eurasian National University was put into use after major repairs.
