Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan presented his credentials to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

Ambassador Agalar Atamoglanov conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Mr.  Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and presented his credentials.

“It is a great honor for me to represent my country in our brotherly Kazakhstan.

The basis of friendly and fraternal ties between our countries was founded by the national leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. Today this policy is being successfully continued by the heads of our states.

Our countries are strategic partners and allies. Such a high level of mutual understanding was established in the Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 24, 2005.

As Turkic-speaking peoples, we are very close in ethnic, linguistic and cultural values. Common roots, customs, traditions - all this created a good platform for even closer rapprochement between the two peoples.

The strategically favorable geographical position of our countries is of importance. I am confident that the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan will create even greater opportunities for the development of our relations, as well as deepening and expanding trade and economic cooperation between our countries.

Next year we will already celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Both countries are celebrating the 30th anniversary of independence this year. Taking this opportunity, I convey my congratulations and wishes for good, peace and prosperity to the entire fraternal people” – said Ambassador.

Speaking about the cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that Azerbaijan is one of the key partners of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian space and in the Caspian region.

"The priority is to give additional dynamics to the entire spectrum of our multifaceted cooperation," the President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Ambassadors on the official beginning of their missions in Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that, thanks to professional experience, they would contribute to strengthening friendly interstate relations in various fields.
